Inspired by one of Italy’s great fashion houses, this fabulous GRAPHIC print (above) is our reinterpretation of a classic 60’s Retro look.  It’s makes a dramatic statement, like every linen should. The correct color combination of any print is critical to its visual success.   This example of mixing purple, grey, turquoise hits the mark.  The ground fabric of this print was also a key element, lending a beautiful drape to the floor.  I strongly advise against using printed fabrics that are too sheer.  Although the pattern may be nice, if it is too sheer, you can see right through the cloth and see the legs of the table.  Also, the fabric will hang in a sloppy fashion, which you would want to avoid at all cost.

A few additional tips for great decor, beginning with your linens:

1. Don’t be afraid of color or texture.  Mix it up.  Use tulle with sequins, burlap with toile,  embossed vinyls with crisply starched napkins.  Pick a  statement color and run with it, all over the room.  Nothing says summer like chartreuse green, yellow, or persimmon accents with dinner napkins, florals,  throw pillow or cushions.

2. The weight of the fabrics you select is critical to the visual success you are trying to achieve. Never use fabrics that are too lightweight unless they are paired with a heavier cloth underneath.  Beware of falling in love with a printed charmeuse or silk, or even an inexpensive satin. The fabric will drape in a sloppy fashion and detract from the print itself.

3. When it comes to big impact, put your money on the most visual tables or areas, such  as the place card table, cake table, and especially the bride and groom tables.  Bring in embellished linens that look elegant and drape well.  A few specialty accent chairs or slipcovers can make a bold fashion statement as well.   Love where you are spending your money!  For instance, below, here we have one of our most popular fabrics,  our Ivory and Gold Floral Organza.  It brings forth floating flowers and some even see dogwood blossoms in Springtime.

Indeed, nothing says Spring and  Summer better than tones of yellows.  Evoking the warmth of the sun,  yellow and gold tones bring an uplift to any wedding decor.   This custom drum cloth was paired with a matching drum lampshade above for additional drama.   This Ivory and Gold Floral Organza is both ethereal and dreamy and looks fabulous as well with a beautiful ivory silk underneath.

Dreamy. That’s what linen should be, for every wedding.

Best wishes,
