Eye Makeup Trends : BEAUTY BOOK

Today’s bride is savvy and, for the most part, knowledgeable on current beauty trends. In my opinion, a great makeup artist is not only able to create and execute an avant garde look for the runway, but is also able to take elements of the hottest trends and translate them into a look more befitting for the aisle. Gone are the days when women totally depended upon an artist to dictate how they should look on their wedding day, and most, more than not, have definite views of what they do like and more importantly, what they don’t like. Here are some of the hottest spring/summer eye makeup trends and how they can be transformed into stunning looks for your big day.
SOMETHING BLUE!
Blue eye shadow made a comeback this past fashion week and is one of the hottest eye trends for the spring and summer. This resurgent trend is not reminiscent of the 1960’s, it has resurfaced with a bang. No hue of blue was forgotten, from the deep rich navy at the Roberto Cavalli show to vibrant electric blue worn at Moschino Cheap & Chic show, right down to a powder blue shadow worn by the models at Monique Lhuillier.
Try using a blue liner either around the eye, staying close to the lash line or lining the inside rim. A little color is a great way to make your eyes sparkle. Blue and blue green hues are especially great for making brown eyes pop.
CRIMSON EYES!
Another trend this season where eyes painted in vibrant shades of crimson and fuschia. Although this was a stunning look on the runway, these vibrant colors don’t particularly look so hot with a white wedding gown. But muted versions of these colors can look amazing and are great at making green and blue eyes sparkle.
METALLICS!
The models of Chanel, Gucci and Versace all shimmered in metallic shadows. Rich shimmering metallic shades in all colors are super hot for this season. Great for evening weddings! Some of my favorite metallic shadows are Bobbi Brown’s Metallic Cream Shadows, they are easy to apply by just using a brush and then blending with your finger. They are long lasting and water proof too.
