Bridal Skincare Routine for Day and Night

Cleanse:

Finding the right cleanser is key for healthier-looking skin. Before selecting a cleanser, you need to know your skin type  — oily, dry, combination or acne-prone — and then use it to wash your face first thing in the morning and again in the evening. We love this cleansing oil by La Mer. You can use it to remove your makeup at night, or add water for a luxurious, milky fluid to cleanse your face with. After cleansing your face, dry it gently with a towel and spritz a clarifying lotion like Dr. Hauschka Skin Care Facial Toner to soothe and hydrate your skin.

Moisturize:

Moisturize your face every morning and evening. Use higher-end moisturizers and eye creams that have anti-aging properties. For normal or oily skin, a good option is SkinCeuticals Daily Moisture. It hydrates, nourishes and helps reduce the appearance of pore size. If you want a moisturizer that does double duty –nourish your skin and sun protection — Eminence Tropical Vanilla Day Cream SPF 32 is perfect for that. For evening, repair your skin with good serum like TNS Essential Serum which promotes healthier skin with growth factors, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants and peptides.

Warmer weather can take a toll in the delicate skin around your eyes. Focus on selecting an eye cream that has powerful antioxidant, a light texture and help prevent wrinkles. We like Neocutis Lumiere eye cream, because it revitalizes the delicate skin around the eyes. Follow up with stronger eye serum in the evening like Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum.

Protect:

Apply sunscreen everyday no matter what age you are. Choose one that is at least SPF 18 (SPF 30 for lighter skin), making sure that it is water resistant and it protects against UVA/UVB rays. A great face sunscreen to try is Chanel UV Essential, the formula is not greasy and has a powdery finish. For maximum protection, reapply sunscreen every two hours.

Exfoliate:

Even if you follow all the steps above without exfoliating you won’t get glowing-looking skin before your wedding. For normal skin, exfoliate at least twice a week and oily or combination skin types should exfoliate more often. A great exfoliator is Natura Bisse C+C Vitamin Scrub which has an amazing rapid gentle exfoliant that is high in vitamin C, super antioxidants and minerals. A few months before your wedding, get a series of professional salicylic/glycolic peels from your dermatologist. If you want to try at-home peels, Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel Packettes produce really amazing results.

Repair:

An antioxidant serum should be a staple in your medicine cabinet. We love Skinceuticals Phloretin CF serum not only because it is travel-friendly, but because it prevents sun damage, repairs your skin and gives it a healthy glow in just a few weeks. Wear it in the morning before applying your moisturizer.

Lip Care:

A few times a week heal cracked lips by hydrating with an at-home solution. A quick way to hydrate your lips is by mixing a little bit of honey and sugar in a small spoon. Just apply a thin layer on your lips and when dry, wipe off with warm water and finish with by applying a lip balm. You can also use a lip scrub to get rid of cracked lips. A good option is the Sugar Lip Polish by Fresh. It’s really easy to use, apply the lip polish to your lips, gently massage and leave on for five minutes. Rinse with warm water and you’re done.
