Celebrating Israel's Bridal Fashion Designers by Mark Ingram
By Mark Ingram, Mark Ingram Atelier
I am always searching for new and exciting additions to add to my Atelier. Sometimes, I find an entire new collection to feature and sometimes I find a small gem of one perfect gown from a far away designer. This past year I have found two amazingly talented, yet very aesthetically different designers from the same country: Israel. With a laid back, casual lifestyle and serious beach culture, especially in Tel Aviv, Israel is not the first country I would think of to discover up and coming talent in the couture bridal market. Yet this year I have added two collections from there – Mira Zwillinger and Inbal Dror. Both of these collections have been an instant success in the Atelier and my brides have been demanding more from these super hot designers!
Mira Zwillinger is romantic, light and airy. Mira perfectly named her latest collection “Ethereal” and I could not describe these sumptuous gowns better! She has an amazingly unique and modern way of using lace and appliqué. Her light and airy construction is incredible. Combined with delicate silk organza, tulle and chiffons, her gowns have an almost vintage couture feel, but are ever so contemporary.
With daring plunging necklines and down-to-there backs, Inbal Dror redefines the sensual bridal gown. As seen below, creative cut-outs in bold lace patterns and leg slits that dare-to-bare abound in this bold, yet refined collection. Traditional laces and soft slippery satins add a touch of old world elegance to Inbal’s stunning gowns.
Both designers definitely embrace the sensuality of the female body, and show it off to great effect. What kind of bride are you? Are you more Ethereal or Sensual?
