Welcome to Spring: The November Company's Celebrate Expo

Happy Spring! and welcome to another issue of The Bridal Circle Buzz!

It’s been another month of whirlwind travel for me, visiting Creative Partners from one corner of the world to another and back again. One of my favorite trips took place just last week and I’m still recovering from the amazing experience! At the invitation of Bibi Hayat, the owner of The November Company, one of the most successful wedding planning businesses in the Middle East, I traveled to Kuwait to speak at the Celebrate Expo. I had the pleasure of meeting Bibi at the recent Engage! Luxury Wedding Summit at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida.

The November Company began as a small event planning company which has now grown into a gift and flower shop, a bakery and a design studio. Bibi launched the Celebrate Expo just a year ago, a wedding and special event exhibition for Middle Eastern brides and party hosts. She brings together a selection of handpicked exhibitors and vendors from all over the region; it was truly an honor to be invited to take part in the stylish conference. It’s hard to imagine Bibi adding more to her busy roster, but she’s also opening Cafe November which I can’t wait to visit as I’m sure it will be as sensational as everything else she does.

While in Kuwait for the bridal show, I also had the pleasure of meeting Mirna Harb the Editor-in-Chief of Zafaf Magazine, Kuwait’s leading bridal magazine. It’s a stunning wedding publication filled with inspiration and advice for brides.

I also enjoyed getting to know Alya Nawaf al-Othman, the Executive Editor of Khaleejesque Magazine, a chic and beautiful lifestyle magazine that I read from cover to cover…a delicious read!

Always distracted by fashion, I was thrilled to meet Krikor Jabotian an amazing Lebanese designer that blew my mind away with his bridal collection. {I can’t wait to share more about these fabulous Middle Eastern wedding resources in the future…}

I was thrilled to speak at the Celebrate Expo about the importance of working with a luxury vendor and today’s wedding trends, including sharing the below from Bibi:

  • Sweet buffets. Mixing up macarons, chocolates and plenty of mini desserts…
  • Strong bold colors EVERYWHERE in event design, wedding gowns and details.
  • Glamming up events, days of simple are over!
  • Pastels mixed with strong metallics. Rose gold with pistachio. Lilac with gold. Yellow and peach with matte silver.
  • The use of lots of flowers. From exotics to romantic. More is more is more 🙂

A big THANK YOU goes out to several of my wonderful Creative Partners for sharing their industry insights and wedding photos with me for my presentation, the crowd LOVED IT!  I can’t wait for the next Celebrate Expo and thank my dear friend Bibi Hayat for her warm hospitality. Kuwait is truly a beautiful country and the people are the friendliest you could ever meet, right down to the lovely woman on the plane who offered to take me around the country. If you can, I encourage you to visit soon…

Warmly,

Sade Awe, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Bridal Circle
