FOUR SEASONS HOTEL, GEORGE V, PARIS
Four Seasons Hotel, George V Paris is THE epitome of today’s standard of luxury. Ensconced within Paris’ most upscale shopping district, known as the golden triangle, guests can access Avenue George V, Avenue Montaigne, and Rue Francois with ease. Just a few steps away, the Champs-Elysées unfurls and the Arc de Triomphe and Eiffel Tower are majestically spread before you. Four Seasons Hotel George V is at the heart of it all, and is clearly one of Paris’ most sophisticated addresses. The Hotel boasts some of the City of Love’s most exquisite views, with private terraces that offer breathtaking vistas.
A visit to the Four Seasons Hotel, George V is truly a regal experience. Doormen greet guests with warmth, and the front desk cordially knows guests by name. The grand lobby is stunningly appointed with lush floral décor in abundance. The artistic display is a living work of art, envisioned and crafted by the gifted in-house Artistic Director, Jeff Leatham. Easily considered the top luxury hotel florist in the world, Jeff is also the Creative Director of Four Seasons Hotels worldwide. More than a florist, Jeff Leatham is a true artistic genius whose use of color, form and balance has taken the art of floral design to a whole new realm of the exquisite.
Each week, Jeff Leatham creates a new theme for the grand lobby. Floral décor is refreshed and tweaked twice daily, and hourly, if necessary. This gesture simply represents the dedication with which Four Seasons Hotel George V strives for excellence and perfection, even in the smallest of details. Every last detail becomes part of the incomparable experience of visiting the Four Seasons Hotel George V.
From elegant rooms replete with plush bedding to expansive marble bathrooms, there is no home away from home like George V. The service and attention to detail is remarkable. During my last stay at the hotel, I came down with a bad cough due to my extensive traveling itinerary. The care and love that the Four Seasons Hotel George V staff showed me left me in awe. From a special homemade ginger infusion “prepared with love from room service” to fresh comfort treats left in my room during turndown, I felt pampered and well- cared for. The lengths to which the staff went to ease my distress was priceless. I would be remiss not to include a heartfelt thank you to Alice, my Guest Relations Manager, as I recount my time at the Four Seasons Hotel George V.
Dining at Four Seasons Hotel, George V is a dream. Le Cinq restaurant exceeds expectations on every level. The ambience is exquisite, decorated in shades of gold and gray. Tablecloths, china and silver are all created for the Hotel’s particular use. Christian Le Squer, the Hotel’s Michelin-star chef, has been heralded for 12 consecutive years for his gustatory finesse. Christian’s particular talents include assembling dishes in such a manner so as to create the most flavorful of concoctions with perfect coherence. The menu changes in accordance with the seasons and offers myriad options, sure to please the most discerning of palates.
When visiting George V, making time for a private tour of the Le Cinq wine cellar is an absolute must. Given by the head sommelier, the tour commences 4 metres below ground, where the cellar is built of rocks that were formerly used to build the Arc de Triomphe. The Le Cinq cellar boasts nearly 50,000 bottles, nestled carefully on wooden shelves. Full of true vintage treasures, Le Cinq’s cellar preserves wines within an ideal environment where temperatures and moisture content rates are perfectly managed.
A trip to the Spa is not to be neglected. My two favorite treatments include the George V Massage and the Energizing Parisian Experience. The George V signature massage aims to energize your body by restoring flexibility and freedom to muscles and joints. A healing experience utilizing anti-stress techniques, this massage includes joint mobilizations, vibrations and stretches. Ideal for stressed and tired guests, or to energize the body after working out this signature massage is always at the top of my list of must-have spa treatments. The Energizing Parisian Experience is also excellent. This full-body, deep-tissue massage, featuring ancient therapeutic techniques, is both calming and invigorating. Acupressure point stimulation and light stretching add to the rejuvenating experience.
George V’s concierge is without a doubt one of the best that I have encountered. Whether guests are looking to score tickets to the hottest shows in Paris or simply require reservations for Michelin Star restaurants that normally take six months to a 1-year to get into, George V’s concierge makes every whim a reality. In conjunction with an excellent staff that overlooks absolutely nothing, this luxury hotel experience is carefully crafter to be unlike any other.
When in Paris, George V truly is my home away from home- and so much more. Looking forward to another rendezvous at George V in 2016, and simply cannot wait!
