Even if you’re not marrying royalty, you can still have a fairy-tale wedding. All you need is a gorgeous mansion that can double as a wedding venue. These beautiful mansions located all over the United States not only deliver the wedding of your dreams, but some go the extra mile with amenities like traveling to your reception on a horse-drawn carriage or complimentary overnight stays for the happy couple.
The Mansion On Forsyth Park, Savannah, Georgia
Romance and old Southern traditions await you at Savannah’s Mansion on Forsyth Park. Originally a private home built in 1888, this eclectic and modern 18,000-square-foot Victorian-Romanesque mansion sits on the edge of Forsyth Park. Imagine a majestic, historic mansion that has been prepared just for you.
The Kessler property is styled with opulent interiors and dramatic design perfect for the couple that wants a sophisticated wedding experience. The artistic and breathtaking surroundings of the Mansion on Forsyth Park are blended with classic style to make your day perfectly exuberant. Travel to your reception on a horse-drawn carriage and celebrate your love in the magnificent Viennese Ballroom with gold leafing and crystal chandeliers. For those who prefer the outdoors, there’s the Marble Garden Courtyard, which can accommodate up to 200 guests. Say “I do” overlooking a sparkling pool and waterfall.
Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina
The Biltmore Estate is America’s largest home. Biltmore House, the main house on the estate, is a Châteauesque-styled mansion built by George Vanderbilt between 1889 and 1895. Still owned by one of Vanderbilt’s descendants, it stands today as one of the most prominent remaining examples of the Gilded Age.
With its stunning natural beauty and long tradition of hospitality, there is perhaps no more perfect place to say “I do” than Biltmore. Choose from the gracious Lioncrest Grand Ballroom, the casually elegant Antler Hill Barn, the stunning hilltop at Diana and many more venues. For the bride and groom the estate offers complimentary overnight stay at the Inn on Biltmore Estate.
Oheka Castle & Estate, Huntington, New York
If you always wanted to get married in castle this is the venue for you! This French-style castle was built by philanthropist and investment financier Otto Hermann Kahn as his private residence in the early 1900s. It’s the second largest private home in the United States, comprising 127 rooms and over 109,000 square feet. Offering grand European ambiance, the now-hotel makes for a dreamy wedding venue.
At this prestigious wedding venue, you’ll savor award-winning cuisine and dance the night away as celebrities, dignitaries, and heads of state once did during the golden age of the Roaring Twenties. You’ll feel truly like royalty at OHEKA, since they only host one wedding a day.
Fonthill Castle, Doylestown, Pennsylvania
Fonthill Castle is the perfect setting for a grand outdoor wedding. Fonthill was the home of the American archeologist and tile maker Henry Chapman Mercer. Built between 1908 and 1912, it features 44 rooms, over 200 windows, 18 fireplaces and 10 bathrooms. Upon his death in 1930, Mercer left his concrete “Castle for the New World” in trust as a museum of decorative tiles and prints.
Fonthill Castle is surrounded by 30 acres of rolling lawns, peaceful woodlands and a meandering stream. Weddings are feast for the eyes and senses: the happy couple and their guests can enjoy cocktails on the balcony of the Terrace Pavilion before descending the curving staircase to dine and dance under chandeliers in the intimate white wedding tent nestled beside the castle.
