Editor's Letter: Sade's Review of Bridal Fashion Week 2014

Dear sweet friends,

There are so many exciting things about what I get to do for a living.  I get to talk to brides and event professionals from all over the world, getting to know and understand their wants and desires when it comes to luxury weddings and bridal style. Next to the wonderful world of weddings, travel is my other passion. On behalf of The Bridal Circle, I also get to travel to gorgeous places, staying in some of the most luxurious hotels around the globe.

But I have to say one of the most exciting things I get to do is experience the glorious world of fashion firsthand! To see the latest bridal collections explode onto the season during Bridal Market and chat with the designers directly is a true dream come true! Hearing what inspired their latest collections, as well as what drives them as creatives and entrepreneurs is just fascinating and inspiring to me on many levels.

Attending the shows also brings the bridal community together as fellows. There is so much excitement and joy happening all at once, everyone is sitting together, waiting with anticipation, wondering what the models are going to be wearing, what will this season show for trends. Who will rule the runway, what will Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta, Reem Acra, Ines di Santo, Angel Sanchez, Romona Keveza, Amsale, Christos, Kenneth Pool, Marchesa and all the other couture designers show? Who will give us the WOW factor we all need and crave?

Well, let me tell you, the designers did not disappoint us. They designed something for every type of bride, for the bride who has dreamt of walking down the aisle her entire life and being the Belle of the Ball, or Cinderella wrapped in endless tulle, or the bride who wants to ooze sex appeal and show off her buffed beach body with a form hugging silhouette, there is something for each and every one of you!

So, to all the wonderful designers of Bridal Fashion Week 2014… BRAVO! Bellisima! You rocked the runway with some of the most inspiring gowns I’ve seen in many years and I can’t wait to see them gliding by on our beautiful brides.

While in New York for the shows, I also had the pleasure of meeting and spending time with TBC Creative Partners like Harriette Rose Katz, Mark IngramMarcy Blum and Ron Ben-Israel amongst many other wedding professionals.  I had the opportunity to have breakfast with the lovely Anne Chertoff and talk bridal shop chat. New York is, and always an amazing experience!

Warmly,

Sade Awe, Founder & Creative Director of The Bridal Circle
